This meeting is being held to follow up on the objective of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States Coast Guard and the Florida Institute of Oceanography signed in June of 2012 to provide academic researchers an overview on how the USCG responds to major natural or anthropogenic emergencies such as hurricanes and oil spills.
