Frequently Asked Questions

When using the "Find County" tool, how do I Zoom or Pan to my selected County?
Once the selected county appears in the "Results" box, right-click the county name and a series of drop-down options will appear including "Zoom to", "Pan to" and "Remove".

How can I better discern my "Landcover" choices on the map?
Make sure the "Base Layer" on the map is displaying a Shoreline layer (which has a beige background) rather than the 'busy' Imagery background.

Why is it taking so long for my map to refresh?
Many of the datasets included in this mapping service are quite detailed and as such, can take a while to display. As long as the the 'processing' bar in the lower right is active, the map is still processing. In some cases, it may prove beneficial to zoom in to a tighter view to expedite the display process.

Why is my "Identify" tool failing to select items from my preferred layer?
Due to the great many possible layers that can be displayed at once, the "Identify" tool can have trouble discerning your particular layer. Turn off (uncheck) all unnecessary layers and then try again. If this doesn't produce your desired results, try zooming in a bit tighter on the area of interest.
