Water Quality Protection Program (WQPP) ArcView Project

Additional tools have been added to ArcView that enhance its functionality. These tools include: toggle/legend, metadata, return to extent of FKNMS, latitude/longitude, and continuous identify. Explanations of the added tools are shown below.

1. Scale-Dependent Data
Some of the data sets in the ArcView project are scale-dependent. This means that they will only draw when the scale (e.g. 1:3,136,985) of the view is between certain values. This was done to speed drawing times when viewing large geographic areas. For example, the highly detailed Aids to Navigation will only draw when zoomed to a scale of
1:40,000 or larger. To change the scale of your view, zoom in or out to your desired viewing extent. You can also enter the exact scale of your view in the scale window at the top of your view. If you wish to disable or override, this feature, directions can be found in ArcView help.
New Buttons
2. Toggle Legend
This button will hide or show the legend of the active theme(s).

3. Return to Extent
When pressed, this button will reset the view's extent to the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary boundary.

4. Metadata
This button will display the metadata available for the active theme(s).
New Extensions
5. Latitude/Longitude
This button displays the latitude and longitude of the cursor's location on screen

6. Identify
This button is similar to the identify button already found in ArcView, but it allows real-time identification of features found in an active theme.
