This dataset contains length and weight data derived from electrofishing sampling on Florida lakes from 2007 to 2020 as recorded by the Florida Fish and Wildilfe Conservation Commission Division Freshwater Fisheries Management .
This dataset was created to support the What's Happening on my Lake interactive web application which provides various details about Florida lakes including fishing info, habitat and plant management, lake features, and more.
Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The institute name has been changed in references to ongoing research, new research, and contact information.
