This dataset represents centroids and names of Florida waterbodies where electrofishing sampling has occured.
This dataset was created to support the What's Happening on my Lake interactive web application which provides various details about Florida lakes including fishing info, habitat and plant management, lake features, and more.
Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The institute name has been changed in references to ongoing research, new research, and contact information.

Added SQL database view to ArcPro containing electrofishing sampling records, then exported to file geodatabase. Ran Summary Statistics tool with Waterbody as case field and other fields including Lat/Lon as Statistics Fields using the Stastic Type 'First'. Displayed XY coordinates and the resulting feature layer was projected to WGS 1984 Mercator (auxillary sphere) projected coordinate system.
