This dataset was created to support the What's Happening on my Lake interactive web application which provides various details about Florida lakes including fishing info, habitat and plant management, lake features, and more. Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The Point to Raster tools was run to convert the points to a raster, and the Contour tool was run to create the Contour polyline feature class. Lastly, the Simplify Line tool was run with the Bend_Simplify Algorithm at a tolerance of 1000 feet to increase performance when displaying in a map.
