The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. <procdesc>Spreadsheets containing plant data information from site sampling were provided by FWC’s Division of Freshwater Fisheries biologists. For each year, the spreadsheets were converted to geodabase tables and appended if needed to create one table for each year and the following ArcGIS processing was done. A new table was created by running the Transpose Fields tool to take columns with plant codes from a point intercept table and transpose as rows to create the new table. All rows were then deleted that didn’t meet certain criteria such as locations that couldn’t be accessed. The join field was run to join all of the fields from the plant tables from step 1 to the new table created from the Transpose Fields tool. Using the ‘Lake’ field, the Join Field tool was run again to join the Lake_Id from a feature class containing waterbodies being monitored to the table. The Add Field tool was run to add a ‘Site_Id’ field and ‘Year’ field. The Calculate Field tool was run to populate the ‘Year’ field from the current folder name and then again to create a new Site id by concatenating the Lake id with the site number. Lastly, the tables from each year were appended into a single table. </procdesc>

For each year, the spreadsheets were converted to geodabase tables and appended if needed to create one table for each year and the following ArcGIS processing was done. A new table was created by running the Transpose Fields tool to take columns with plant codes from a point intercept table and transpose as rows to create the new table. All rows were then deleted that didn’t meet certain criteria such as locations that couldn’t be accessed. The join field was run to join all of the fields from the plant tables from step 1 to the new table created from the Transpose Fields tool. Using the ‘Lake’ field, the Join Field tool was run again to join the Lake_Id from a feature class containing waterbodies being monitored to the table. The Add Field tool was run to add a ‘Site_Id’ field and ‘Year’ field. The Calculate Field tool was run to populate the ‘Year’ field from the current folder name and then again to create a new Site id by concatenating the Lake id with the site number. Lastly, the tables from each year were appended into a single table.</stepDesc>
