Abstract:
This GIS data set represents the counties and shoreline of the state of Florida, including inland lakes and rivers, at a 1:100,000 scale. Data obtained from US census 2000 files were downloaded by county from ESRI's ArcData Online and MAPJOINed to form the statewide data set. The "water polygons" and "counties" data were used to create this data set.
Purpose:
This data set visually represents the counties of the state of Florida at a 1:100000 scale.

Process Step:

Process Description: Downloaded shapefiles in Geographic NAD83 of the TIGER/Line data for "counties" and "water polygons" from ESRI's Web site. The counties data were MERGEd in ArcMap to create a statewide counties shapefile. This counties shapefile was intersected with "fl_100k_2000" to create a statewide shoreline with county attributes.
