Abstract:
This data set displays the number of permits for snapper grouper (limited 225lbs) in the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council's area of jurisdiction.
Purpose:
This GIS data displays the South Atlantic Federal Snapper Grouper Limited (225lb) Permits for 2006. The permit data are from the National Marine Fisheries Service Permit Database which were provided by Janet Miller, NMFS. Commercial fishermen are required to purchase to fish for or possess Snapper Grouper in the SA EEZ (3-200 miles.)
Supplemental_Information:
Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The institute name has been changed in references to ongoing research, new research, and contact information.
