Abstract:
This GIS line data set represents depth contours (bathymetry) for the offshore areas of North Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, as shown in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Nautical Chart 11480. FMRI staff digitized the contours off of a clean, wrinkle-free paper chart in 1997, using the most current version of the chart that was available in 1997.
Purpose:
To represent marine depth contours, primarily for small-scale (large area) cartographic purposes.
Supplemental Information: These data are not to be used for navigation. User should be aware that later versions of the source charts may be available and that contours may have changed. Consult the most recent paper or digital charts available and appropriate coast pilot.
