Collier County is on the southern end of a barrier island chain that begins at Anclote Key in Pasco County, 175 miles to the north. The Collier barrier island coastline extends 37 miles from the Lee/Collier County line south to Cape Romano. The coast extends from Cape Romano another 20 miles southeast in a series of island and bays. This guide to the waterways and marine resources of Collier County is designed to be a boater's on-board companion. Included in the guide are map location for boat ramps, artificial reefs, seagrass beds, and navigation channels. Tables provide details of marina services, reef coordinates, boating safety, and natural resource information. The guide is designed to complement the NOAA navigation charts and should not be used for navigation. Please use the information found in the guide to help protect our diverse and productive marine environment.
